Exception PCB Limited is a well established manufacturing company based in Tewkesbury.  The company is part of an international Chinese company and manufactures printed circuit boards.  We are seeking an engineer who wishes to progress their career in the PCB industry.  The successful candidate will have:

  • excellent organisational and report writing skills
  • write and speak Chinese
  • ability to translate documents into English / Chinese
  • technical / engineering background and / or experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • HND / Degree preferred
  • carry out routine tasks accurately, following procedure
  • ability to write technical reports and presentations and have experience of analysing and reporting data
  • IT skills including spreadsheets and word processing
  • ad hoc duties as required by the General Manager to support the business

This position will be 8.30am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 to 4.15pm Friday. Candidates who wish to work part time will be considered.  Salary will depend upon experience.

New Business Development Manager

Exception PCB Ltd is a provider of standard and specialist quick-turn services to Global OEM and CEM customers in aerospace, defence, energy, medical, telecoms, semiconductor and many other high-technology industries. Our parent company is Fastprint (Shenzhen, China) with manufacturing sites worldwide. Exception is already established in the UK and Europe, based on a combination of Technical design advice, innovative product development, manufacturing, customer service and time-critical delivery.  As a low-medium PCB producer, it is careful to ensure its prototyping and testing are best-in-class and always works in close partnerships with customers to transform their concepts into reality.

The company is enjoying resurgent performance following a recently concluded restructuring process which has resulted in a largely new leadership team and investment in capital equipment.  A New Business Development Manager is now sought to further enhance the company's reputation and sales revenues in UK/Europe. With a number of long-standing customers there will be some account management to this role with a view to grow, but the emphasis will be firmly on New Business Development.

The strength of the company's proposition is based on technical excellence, customer service, right-first-time manufacturing, reliable best-in-class product and delivery to demanding deadlines.  Reporting to the Technical Sales Director, you will have personal and direct responsibility for generating sales to customers in UK/Europe.  To be considered for this role you must have:

  • current experience of selling fast-paced technology manufacturing services, ideally in the electronics industry, in printed circuit board (PCB/HDI), semiconductors or precision components;
  • a personality to handle what is a very demanding role whilst remaining positive, active and calm under constant pressure;
  • the intellect to recognise and resolve problems quickly and effectively and to maximise sales profitability;
  • a collaborative style that will earn the respect and loyalty of all your colleagues, at all levels in the company;
  • a self-reliance, determination and the personal motivation to succeed;
  • the resilience and patience necessary to develop a customer-supplier relationship based on trust over extended periods of time;
  • the discipline and judgement to prepare reliable sales forecasts and keep accurate records of customer contact;
  • the inquisitiveness to study and follow market trends and follow up with appropriate sales and marketing activity;
  • flexibility to travel internationally as required;
  • decision-making, communication and influencing skills to ensure your colleagues' efforts remain focused on exceeding customer expectations;
  • A relevant technical qualification would be desirable, ideally a degree, but a track record of success in sales is essential.
  • Additional languages would be beneficial, but not mandatory
